Why We Built the Jianghu Temperament Test
The Jianghu Temperament Test blends the distinctive world of wuxia fiction with a classic personality-type quiz. It reframes the familiar four-axis structure of a personality test through the language of the jianghu — righteous sects, unorthodox factions, and the demonic cult — so that discovering your result feels as immersive as it is fun.
Why combine wuxia with a personality test
Most personality quizzes explain results through everyday jobs or relationships. The Jianghu Temperament Test goes a step further, mapping your temperament onto the sects and character archetypes of a genre readers have loved for generations. From the calculating strategist of the Sacheon Tang Clan to the world-conquering leader of the Cheonma Cult, each of the sixteen sects represents a distinct way of moving through the world.
How the assessment works
The test consists of twenty questions, each answered on a seven-point scale from strongly disagree to strongly agree. The questions are grouped into four axes:
· Engagement: Stepping Forward vs. Withdrawing
· Martial Perception: External vs. Internal
· Judgment: Law vs. Loyalty
· Movement: Form vs. Flow
Five questions are assigned to each axis. Your scores are summed into a four-letter type code, which determines which of the sixteen sects you belong to — along with your signature weapon, your reputation in the jianghu, and the sects you're best and worst matched with.
What happens to your results
All calculations happen entirely inside your browser. Nothing is sent to or stored on a server. Once you finish, you can copy your result as shareable text or copy a link to send to a friend. See our Privacy Policy for details.
